Thick white jelly discharge with dark/black bits after progesterone vaginal tablet – is this normal?

Hello Doctors,

I am currently around 10–11 weeks pregnant. I had an early scan.

For the past 2–3 weeks, I have been noticing thick white, jelly-like discharge with dark/black particles. I was prescribed a progesterone vaginal tablet (inserted vaginally) for 10 days, which I have completed. However, this type of discharge is still continuing.

Yesterday night, I also experienced mild lower abdominal pain for about 10 minutes, which resolved on its own. I do not have any fresh red bleeding, foul smell, fever, or continuous pain.

At present, I am staying in my hometown and unable to travel to the hospital, so I am seeking guidance.

Kindly advise:

What could be the reason for white jelly discharge with dark/black bits in early pregnancy?

Is this considered normal spotting or old blood?

Is short-duration mild pain normal at this stage?

When should this be considered a warning sign requiring immediate medical attention?
